FLOOD RESILIENCE MEASUREMENT AT ANDIR DISTRICT USING FRI (FLOOD RESILIENCE INDEX)
Flood is one of the most common environmental problems that can be found in Andir District. This region is often flooded because of its location which is close to the Cisangkuy River and its concave geographic structure. This region is often flooded because of its location which is close to the Cisangkuy River and its concave geographic structure. Frequent flood incidents in this area causes local residents and government who live by Andir to take measurements and adaptation to reduce flood impacts. Sadly, the measurements felt ineffective for dealing with flood since Andir district is still prone to flooding and faces frequent flood incidents until now. To deal with this persistent flood problems, it is necessary to adapt a new concept that can deal with flood effectively from different aspects. But until now, there is yet a research that conclude an investigation about flood resilience in Andir District. This research aims to measure how resilient Andir District against the flood from five aspects: physical, social, economy, institutional, and natural. Method used in this research is FRI (Flood Resilience Index), a method that adapts 5R concept from flood risk management that processes primary and secondary data from those five aspects into one indicator that will show resilience level of Andir District against the flood.Integration with 5R concept is done to make sure the actions and measurement taken covers the whole flood timeline. In this research FRI is measured from 13 indicators that divided into 5 dimensions. This research shows that Andir District have a relatively low flood resilience level with only FRI reaching 2,69.

text |
