Hot Mixture Asphaltic Concrete Wearing Course (AC-WC ) with additional Modified Asphalt Plastomer EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) in the Pavement Mixture is expected to add more stiffness and can be an alternative for the surface layer and the intermidiate layer of pavement on the pavement with Perpetual Pavement concept. <br />

This study aimed to Evaluate the laboratory performance in term of Resilient Modulus and Resistance to Fatigue of Hot Mixture Asphaltic Concrete Wearing Course (AC-WC ) using Bitumen Pen 60/70 with the addition of EVA Plastomer 0 % , 3 % and 4 % ( w/w). <br />

Modified asphalt mixture with EVA increase AC-WC Marshall Stability, where with EVA 0 % ( Pen 60/70 ) acquired Marshall Stability is 1.077,3 Kg , in 3 % <br />
<br />
EVA content increased to 1.151,4 Kg (6.88% increase) and the content of EVA 4 % by 1.253,9 Kg (16.39 % increase). Marshall Immersion Test results showed Remaining Strength Index mixture of 3 % EVA ( 97.7 % ) is higher than 4 % EVA ( 95.4 % ) and EVA 0 % ( 94.8 % ). The test results of on UMATTA addition EVA content for Pen Bitumen 60/70 can increase Resilient Modulus, at a <br />

temperature of 35oC Resilient Modulus Asphalt mixtures with Pen 60/70 at 812 MPa , EVA 3 % of 1,803 MPa and EVA 4 % at 2.103 MPa. Fatigue Tests with Four Point Loading Test showed that the mixture that has the best resistance to fatigue is a mixture of bitumen modified with EVA 3 %, where the control stres condition is 1500 kPa, fatigue life reach 8.0 times longer ( 404.576 cycles ) of the Asphalt Pen 60/70 ( 50.570 cycles ), while 4 % EVA 1.67 times longer ( 84.490 cycles ) of the asphalt mixture Pen 60/70. <br />

The use of Modified Asphalt mix Plastomer EVA can increase the stiffness of AC-WC, performance testing Modulus of Resilient and Fatigue Resistance of a mixture between 0 % EVA , EVA 3 % and 4 % , it can be concluded EVA 3 % had the most optimal performance to be used as an alternative Asphalt Modification EVA to support the concept of a perpetual pavement structure pavement as rutt resistance layer.<p align="justify"> |
