Summary: | Sustainability development causes the fashion sector to develop as well. In the material sector, one of the developments is the biodegradable materials usage. The concept of biodegradable materials in fashion has already applied by various brands, even luxury brand such as Stella McCartney with its heels, and Gucci with its sunglasses. Indonesia is abundant with natural resources which is also biodegradable, and people have already explore a lot those materials into the traditional textile, such as Kalimantan Ulap Doyo, Bali Gringsing, etc, which are mostly crafted using structure design technique. <br />

The development of sustainability in fashion world, can also develop the technique to apply those biodegradable materials. The technique which will be explored in this research will be applique, freehand embroidery, using biodegradable materials which are silk, kenaf, and cotton as the natural fibers, and natural dye for the dye. They will be applied as fashion collection, which is women’s evening wear. <br />
