Description
Summary:
Hydroponic as farming system with soil-less media, becomes one of system commonly used in cities where the amount of land decreases. However, the high operational cost becomes problem in hydroponic system. The solution that can be implemented is to substitute some of hydroponic solution with organic solution like leachate from bioconversion results by larvae Black Soldier Fly (BSF), Hermetia illucens. A study was conducted to determine effect of macronutrient and micronutrient in ex-BSF leachate to growth of Tatsoi in various parameters which are total leaves, fresh weight, dry weight, and total chlorophyl, also to determine the best composition of ex-BSF and AB Mix based on those growth and chlorophyl parameters from Tatsoi, Brasica rapa subsp. Narinosa. The method of Tatsoi plantation was using a Nutrient Film Technique hydroponic system with 4 treatments, which are AB Mix 100%; AB Mix 60% AB : Lindi 40%; AB Mix: 40% : Lindi 60%; dan Lindi 100%. Each treatment has 5 repetition with 20 individual plants. This study show that treatment using leachate (40%) and AB Mix (60%) results in average total leaves 94,317 ± 15,119 leaves, fresh weight 268,28 ± 28,16 gram, dry weight 268,28 ± 28,16gram and total chlorophyl 17,231 ± 3,215 mg/L. Every parameters shows that this treatment is statistically different than other treatments (Kruskal Wallis α = 0,05), except with AB Mix 100% treatment. That is beause some of macronutrient in leachate like N, P and K are higher in leachate than standard hyrdroponic solution. It can be concluded that the composition AB Mix 60% : Lindi 40% is the best hydroponic solution for the growth of Tatsoi.
