The oxbow accommodates 3,762 people whom 379 are underserved by a communal septic tank whose processing performance is not good. The others use an individual septic tank which does not meet the requirements of SNI 03-2398-2002 about septic tank planning procedure to treat the blackwater, and drain the greywater directly to the oxbow without any treatment applied. These behaviors cause a contamination on the oxbow and soil water in accordance to a research done by Eryanti Utami in 2016. The area needs a thorough evaluation and improvement on communal wastewater treatment system up to 172.54 m3/day (zone A) and 142.08 m3/day (zone B). There are two treatment technology alternatives, and the selected one is the second alternative with the anaerobic biofilter, by using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method weighting the technical and non-technical aspects. The existing zone remains to use the old communal septic tank with some fixation in the sewerage pipeline, cleaning of the septic tank, and operating the constructed wetland. The treated wastewater is aimed to meet the standard listed in PerMen LHK No. 68 Tahun 2012 about Standard of Domestik Wastewater. It is done to protect the quality of the environment and people’s health. text
