| Summary: | Gending Sugar Factory is one of many sugar industries under PT. Perkebunan Nusantara XI (Persero)/PTPN XI located in Probolinggo Regency, East Java. In the production process, Gending Sugar Factory uses two boilers to produce steam with the help of sugarcane waste (bagasse) as fuel. Burning activity in boiler produced emission is emitted as the result of combustion process and one of the pollutants is particulate matters, therefore redesign a particulate control equipment is needed. Maximum particulate matters concentration based on The Regulation of Envioronment Minister No. 07 Year 2007 and The Regulation of Governor of East Java No. 10 Year 2009 is 250 mg/Nm3. The system designed for this project is high troughput cyclone system featured with duct, dust storage, and stack. Based on calculation result, the diameter size of the cyclone is 3 meters with expected to do 82.34% particulate matters removal. Dust storage is 1.125 meters wide and 2 meters high can be able store the removed particulate matters for 8 hours. |
