One of the main problems in Solear WTP is the turbidity parameter that not far below to the standard, in other word particulate elimination is an essential process which are exist in coagulation, flocculation and sedimentation process. However, the process of increasing the production capacity will affect the entire unit, so it is necessary to evaluate the existing condition of Solear Water Treatment Plant. The evaluation results, after the uprating process from 50 l/s to 100 l/s in 2004, overflow condition ofter occur in coagulation and flocculation unit as the water level increase. Besides that, more tube settler also added, as the result sedimentation tank doesn’t have clear zone for water to flow through the channel. This condition causing several parameters in coagulation, flocculation and sedimentation does not meet the standards. Based on the evaluation, improvements of existing condition cannot be the only solution to increase the production capacity. Thus, new Water Treatment Plant with capacity 100 l/s need to built. Improvement of existing WTP were done by using bricks to elevate the flocculation tank and tube settler replacement in sedimentation unit. The new WTP which has different inlet but combined outlet system, consist of two coagulation tank (one for maintenance need), one flocculation tank with five compartments and three sedimentation tank which adapting the existing WTP. In addition, it is also necessary to analyze the technical specification and non technical analysis such as uncertainty, risk, environmental impact, life cycle performance and sustainability. text |
