The value of rice needs in the year to year increases by 2% in line with the population growth. In the process of rice cultivation, water is an important factor and contribute more than 20% for yield productivity. It is estimated that the current rice cultivation system in Indonesia requires 12,000 m3 / ha / harvest. In the future, this is a tough challenge to deal with because the needs of water will increase as the growth human population. This study aims to compare growth and production biomass from rice plants using two types of planting media, namely soil + biochar + manure (2: 1: 1) and soil, the variety of irrigation methods, namely inundated water (control) and water recycling system 3000 ml / day (recirculation). This study was conducted experimentally with two treatments, each treatment consisting of 40 plant pots. Both treatments were given fertilizer at the 14 Day after planting (DAP), 35 (DAP), and 50 (DAP). The variables observed in this study were plant height, number of leaves, number of tillers, number of panicles, forage biomass, roots, and grain, estimated productivity, evapotranspiration, content of N, P, K, C / N ratio of soil media, N-total content watering water, the amount of water added per day. The result said rice in the recirculation group had a higher height while the parameters of the number of leaves, the number of tillers, the number of panicles, forage biomass, roots, and grain of rice plants. In terms of productivity, recirculation treatment has higher productivity (5.8 ton / ha / harvest) than controls (3.2 ton / ha / harvest). In conclusion, the recycle system improve rice yield up tp 45% than the control. <p align="justify"> text |
