Summary: |
This thesis has aim to formulate principles of un volumetric architecture to applying in a public space design. The designing case was located in Soekarno Hatta street, Malang, East Java which character based on kinds of activities and involves teens as the physical setting builders. These activities which happen in public space have spatio temporal characteristic, in that the character of activities take place temporarily and continually.

Designing public space using un volumetric architecture approach method felt precise because of that purpose of using this method is to provide a place for kinds of activities in public space which can happen temporarily and continually. This method which applied refer to Aldo Aymonino research finding divided become ten elements of un volumetric design such as surfaces, vertical, enclosures, design, shelters, environment, earthworks, figures, technology and events.

Findings of the public space design study in teens using this approach are, first, the un volumetric architecture approach must involve other relevant fields such as economy, social, culture, politic, landscape, urban design and so on as a synergy in design. Second, in this case, such approach is equivalent to characters of spatio temporal spaces. Third, in this regard, shelters excessively engages as stimulus to create space for kinds of activities, to give the temporary impression supports and as answers to Indonesia climate questions.
