Description
Summary:
Learning Management System (LMS), is a software that facilitates online learning process management. The implementation of gamification to the LMS, is not only aimed to make the learning is fun, but must be able to change the habits, motivations, attitudes and student learning outcomes. However, each student has a different learning orientation based on the way he defines his ability, therefore the learning model needs to be adjusted, so that the student is able to learn according to his character.

In this study, it is proposed a design of personalized learning system using gamification design based on gaming achievement goal. The process of personalizing the gamification design is divided into 3 stages: defining the gamification elements based on the Werbach and Hunter methods, then designing the personalization of the gamification model based on Bista method, and creating the personalization of the gamification design. Then, the proposed design was implemented into learning content system using Moodle LMS and a web-based system to set up a gamification design called G-Learning

The evaluation has been conducted to measure the quality of students' learning outcomes and the performance of functional system. The evaluation has been conducted on 50 students who used G-Learning and 50 students who used Moodle. The result of the evaluation indicates that the learning outcomes are close to give a significant effect than other LMS. However, the G-Learning system gets positive feedback from the students based on accessibility of the system, quality of the personalized gamification and effects of the gamification in learning. In addition to that, Google Analytics have demonstrated that G-Learning helps students to see the development of learning independently.
