Description
Summary:
I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport is one of the busiest airports in Indonesia, in terms of the number of passenger and aircraft movement. Runway and taxiway capacity analysis of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Denpasar is needed to see the ability to serve current and future aircraft movement. Runway capacity is calculated in three patterns of operation, arrival, departure, and mix operation. The calculation starts by data compilation that will be used on the calculation, such as passenger and aircraft movement, aircraft characteristic, geometry of the airside, and socioeconomic. Currently, the airport has one runway in mix operation pattern, nine exit taxiways, and one parallel taxiway. Existing runway can accommodate 370 aircraft movement each day. The largest aircraft is Boeing 777-300 ER. Capacity is calculated using current aircraft movement. After that, estimate the passenger and aircraft movement in the future. Estimate the passenger movement using econometric model. Convert the passenger movement to aircraft movement according to the current origin or destination. According to the forecast, aircraft movement will increase up to 796 aircrafts each day. Today’s capacity cannot accommodate peak hour movement in the future. Therefore, there are several alternative to increase the capacity, such as construct the new exit taxiway(s) and new runway.
