GREEN CUBICLES CHINATOWN CULINARY AS AN EFFORT FOR REVITALIZATION OF GLORIA ALLEY AND SURROUNDING AREA

<p align="justify">In Indonesia, there are many regions that have potentials in culinary, especially in urban area like DKI Jakarta. Gloria Alley, or Pintu Besar Selatan III Street, in Glodok, West Jakarta is well known for its chinatown culinary. In this area, there are heritage buildings which represents ancient chinese culture. Eventhough this area is known by the culinary, these days the number of visitors tend to decrease compared to how it used to be. Most of the buildings surrounding this area are not functioning well anymore and become neglected, causing this area to be prone to acts of criminality. With that condition, the development of chinatown culinary for tourism is needed as a part of revitalization in this area. This project aims to increase the potential of chinatown culinary in Gloria Alley and revive back the business activities in buildings surrounding the area. The built area is being set according to cultural significance (Burra Charter, 2013) and law Of Republic of Indonesia number 11 of 2010 about cultural heritage. “Green Cubicles” is a design concept that came up based on certain issues including the function, user, and site of this project. It aims to increase the green area and provide leisure activities <br /> <br /> that has become a trend nowadays. In this chinatown, there are culinary area, such as street food, restaurant, and cafe. There are also leisure area, such as retail, plaza, and game center. The street food area which is located near the Gloria Alley is the main attraction of this chinatown culinary.<p align="justify">
