Description
Summary:oxidizing agents involved in the oxidation process. This research will use a tube reactor made from stainless steel with size 21 cm × 21 cm × 18 cm.Ultrasonic type that used in this study is ultrassonic bath. There are two independent variables tested, solid / liquid ratio (1: 3, 1: 6; 1: 9; 1:12 gr/ml) and power (70 watts, 100 watts, 130 watts, 130 watts). While the response variable are pH, TPH, oil & grease, temperature. Experiment results show that ultrasonic One of the environmental problems was hydrocarbon contamination as a result of activity in the oil and gas industry. Although many contaminated areas have been treated by bioremediation techniques, some field data show that biological processing need much time or less effective. Another alternative techniques for treated contaminated physical & chemical, for example ultrasonic irradiation. Ultrasonic is widely studied on soil or sediment with several types of contaminants in both heavy metals and organic materials. According to some research, ultrasonic power not only enhances the desorption or leaching of contaminants from the soil but also plays an important role in the formation of radicals (•OH) which are process can increase the conductivity, temperature rise up to 4 ℃ with no significant pH change. There are two tested frequencies 28 kHz and 48 kHz. The best optimum frequency is at 48 kHz with the removal efficiency of TPH equal to 67,09%. At optimum condition, the efficiency of oil & grease decrease and at 48 kHz frequency in solid/ liquid ratio of 1:9 and power 160 watts is 63,15% and 61,03%. The desorption isotherm on this experiment is Langmuir isotherm and the desorption kinetics is pseudo first order with the rate desorption of oil & grease and TPH was 0.32520 / minute and 0.2116 / minute at the optimum ratio of 1: 9 (gr / ml)
