EFFECT OF PHYSICAL PARAMETERS ON THE SYNTHESIS OF KCC-1 USING BENZALKONIUM CHLORIDE AS A NOVEL TEMPLATING AGENT

The influence of chemical parameters in synthesis of KCC-1 using CPB, CTAB and BZK template has been discussed by previous researchers. Compositions such as surfactant, co-solvent, urea, and oil solvent affecting the synthesis of KCC-1 have been studied. However, effect of physical parameters such as pressure and heat transfer have not been investigated. Therefore, in this research, the effect of pressure and heat transfer on the synthesis of KCC-1 by using benzalkonium chloride as a template was carried out. The variation of pressures were Patm, P30/100, P50/100, and P70/100, where Patm < P30/100 < P50/100 < P70/100. For the second study we use autoclave and perfuoroalkoxy alkane plastic bottle as KCC-1 synthesis container to observe the effect of heat transfer. PFA bottle was selected as the new synthesis container because it has different heat transfer to autoclave. All synthesized products were characterized by Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) to see the morphology and Diffuse Reflectance Ultraviolet (DRUV) to analyze the presence of oxygen vacancy in the sample KCC-1. Different pressures on KCC-1 synthesis do not change the morphology significantly whereas the oxygen vacancy is only observed on samples from theses reduced pressure: P30/100, P50/100, and P70/100. The heat transfer in the PFA bottle is better than the autoclave so synthesis using the PFA bottle has a higher yield of the product. text |
