Soil moisture of peatland needs to be maintained for enviromental sustainability and living creatures, especially dry season. Low rain intensity, temperature increases and other meteorological data cause dryness of peatlands. Therefore, soil moisture of peatland should be maintained so as not to cause major impacts such as peatland fires. The empirical method of Penman modification is used to calculate the magnitude of potential evapotranspiration based on meteorological measurement data. Evapotranspiration value is used as super tank model data input. The model estimate soil moisture of peatland. The peat layer is organized into a tank of 10 cm depth with Nash-Suctliffe effectiveness of 0.995 and volume error of 3.88%, 50 cm depth with Nash-Suctliffe 0.869 and volume error of 11.12% and 100 cm depth with Nash-Suctliffe 0.83 and 7.09% volume error. The result of soil moisture modeling is correlated with Keetch-Byram Drought Index (KBDI) method with depth of 10 cm value of -0.579, depth 50 cm value of -0.778 and 100 cm depth value of -0,695. Then KBDI drought index is correlated with number of hotspots FIRMS – NASA 0.589 and KemenLH hotspot 0,515. Negative correlation indicates that relationship between two variables has an opposite relationship while positive correlation has a direct relationship. Then correlation has a strong relationship when it is worth approaching +1 or -1. The low density index of KBDI is equivalent to soil moisture 79.0% in layer 1, 85.8% in layer 2 and 88.7% in layer 3. Then the medium density index of KBDI is equivalent to soil moisture 75.9% in layer 1, 82.3% in layer 2 and 86.8% in layer 3. Then the high density index of KBDI is equivalent to soil moisture 74.2% in layer 1, 79.7% in layer 2 and 85.7% in layer 3. Then the extreme density index of KBDI is equivalent to soil moisture 70.5% in layer 1, 74.2% in layer 2 and 82.5% in layer 3.<p align="justify"> text
