Description
Summary:An CO-B4 electrochemical sensor is gas detector which is portable, low energy, low investment and operating costs, as well as easy to operate. As an indicative air monitoring equipment, CO-B4 electrochemical sensor must meet the Data Quality Objective. So this research tested its performance for carbon monoxide parameters as the biggest emission in ambien air. The research objective was determine the level of accuracy, precision, ratio to a reference value, and the impact of metheorology to sensor’s accuracy. Laboratory data collection methods was testing concentration variation of CO standard gas which was compared to CO meter. Field testing were conducted sensor on ambient air with high CO concentrations (Bundaran HI) and low CO concentrations (Lubang Buaya) which were compared to CO Analyzer. Data measurement time and the concentration of each instrument were analyzed using statistical methods of correlation, it is known from the test results of 95.7% of the data did not meet the criteria of accurate, while based on the results of testing by 40.7% of the data did not meet the criteria of precision. Thus the operating time of 1 year 8 months Electrochemical Sensor CO-B4 is not accurate and precision to be used as a measurement of the concentration of CO in the ambient air .. This is caused by reduced sensitivity sensor and an increasing drift due to the age of the sensor is approaching operating life, the use of sensors must pay attention to its operating life. From field test known that temperatur, humidity, and air velocity has less impact to sensor's accuracy.
