Based on this conditions, it is necessary to know the quality of the river due to anthropogenic activities around the river with one of the methods to use is macrozoobenthos population dynamics approach. Population dynamics is the study of the change in the total population and the factors that influence these changes, which one of the variables in the modeling of population dynamics is the maximum growth rate of macrozoobenthos without interruption of predators. The research was conducted within the period from July to December 2014 and aims to determine the value of the specific growth rate (μ), the value of the maximum specific growth rate (μmax), the value of the substrate saturation constant (Ks), as well as the value of the rate of formation of biomass to the substrate (yield) for the type of macrozoobenthos were predominantly found in the Upstream Citarum River, which are Chironomus sp. and Melanoides sp.. From the research conducted by using Monod kinetics equation, the result obtained are Chironomus sp. has a value of μ on the variation of substrate concentration 43 mg/l COD, 80 mg/l COD, 90 mg/l COD, and 106.5 mg/l COD respectively 0,034/day, 0.081/day, 0.114/day, and 0.104/day. While the value of μ for Melanoides sp. with the variation of substrate concentration 43 mg/l COD and 166 mg/l COD respectively 0,029/day and 0,039/day. Chironomus sp. μmaks value of -0.144/day and Ks for -226.17 mg/l. While Melanoides sp. μmaks value of 0.045/day and Ks value of 23.356 mg/l. Yield value for Chironomus sp. the ratio of C:N:P = 43:3:1.5; the ratio of C:N:P = 80:2:1; the ratio of C:N:P = 90:3:0.8; and the ratio of C:N:P = 106.5:2:1 respectively -0.002; -0.006; 0.015; and 0.006. While the yield for Melanoides sp. the ratio of C:N:P = 43:1:1 and the ratio of C:N:P = 166:2:1 respectively at -9.7 and 2.3. text
