Summary:Reservoir X is an oil reservoir which has not been produced, located at Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore North <br /> <br /> West Java (PHE ONWJ) Field. Reservoir X is a shaly sand reservoir located at 5618 ft below the sea level and <br /> <br /> has 150 – 200 ft thickness. Reservoir X will be produced from Platform MSS, in which two alternatives of <br /> <br /> completion methods will be evaluated. In this study, monobore completion and cased hole completion, will be <br /> <br /> evaluated with the use of reservoir, NodalTM, and integrated simulation software package to determine the more <br /> <br /> suitable type of completion method in producing Reservoir X. Monobore completion and cased hole completion <br /> <br /> are built by using side track from not economical LFM Well and by drilling new slot with deck extension, <br /> <br /> respectively. The study will evaluate both completion methods technically and economically, in which technical <br /> <br /> evaluations consists of three aspects, namely Absolute Open Flow Potential (AOFP), optimum operating <br /> <br /> condition and cumulative oil production. On the other hand, economical evaluation determines Net Present <br /> <br /> Value (NPV), Rate of Return (ROR) and Pay Out Time (POT) for two completion methods. The comparison of <br /> <br /> the two methods resulted that monobore completion is better economically while cased hole completion is better <br /> <br /> technically. Hence, monobore completion is recommended to produce Reservoir X in the future.
