One of the EOR methods which has been proven successful in several fields is surfactant huff-n-puff in which surfactant fluid is injected into the reservoir, let soak for a period of time, and then produced along with

dissolved oil through the same well. In this study, a sensitivity study of surfactant huff-n-puff operating parameters was conducted to investigate the correlation between each parameter to total oil recovery. The tested parameters include injection rate, production rate, injection time, soaking time, and production time. The results of this study are used to generate a trend and a recommended huff-n-puff operating design. Based on the

study, each parameter has its individual and cumulative effect on huff-n-puff performance. Oil recovery is independent from the production rate and increases as injection rate increases, injection time, and production time increases. It also increases as soaking time is set at its optimum value. It can be concluded that surfactant huff-n-puff can improve oil recovery and an optimum operating design can be generated to ensure maximum production. text
