This brings difficulty to the company in maintaining its profit growth. The weakening of the rupiah exchange rate against the dollar since the beginning of 2018 also decreases company's profit because most of the raw materials are imported. The phenomenon occured at this time is a strong reason for the company to perform internal evaluation by cutting waste in costs in order to survive in a competitive market. <br /> <br /> This final project focuses on the raw material inventory system as the system’s cost contributes 30% of the total annual cost of the company. In addition, the inventory system’s performances in recent years have not reached the target. These are indicated by more than 5% of demand were not fulfilled and 28,52% of total stock were expired in 2017. Using root cause analysis, it is found that the problem are caused by the existing inventory policy didn’t accomodate the fluctuation demand and type of material. Therefore, this research searches an inventory policy that can accommodate the fluctuation of demand and perishable material. The proposed inventory policy is obtained by using the Model-Q development by Fauzi (2015). <br /> <br /> The proposed inventory policy for eight materials in category A is proven to decrease the number of shortages and expired raw materials at 5706 UOM and 12.93 UOM. In addition, the total inventory cost obtained is Rp 38,740,399,989 and the average service level obtained is 99.109%. Compared to the existing inventory policy, the proposed inventory policy can decrease 17.75% of the total inventory costs and increase 6.842% of the average service level. text
