The city development is followed by increasing of water demand for various purposes. Large amount of groundwater extraction may cause ground subsidence. According to groundwater extraction, we tried to delineate the possibility of aquifer potential based on ground surface deformation using Interferometric Syntetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) and Electrical Resistivity methods. The InSAR is a method to estimate surface deformation in millimeter scale based on different phase of acquisition time. In this paper, surface deformation combined with ground resistivity was used to analyze the potential of aquifer related to subsidence at Surabaya City. Small Based Subset (SBAS) method was used to reduce phase delayed in the interferogram due to atmospheric condition. Based on the corrected InSAR the subsidence was occurred at Surabaya in time interval January 2007 – February 2008, the largest subsidence was occurred in the north to the south eastern part of the city of Surabaya, about 40 mm/year. The lowest subsidence in the western part of Surabaya about 0-10 mm/year. The resistivity survey was performed to determine groundwater aquifers based on subsurface resistivity in Surabaya city. According to the InSAR deformation and subsurface resistivity, the subsidence around Pabeancantikan, Kenjeran, Simokerto and Tenggilismejoyo sub-districts agreed to high resistivity about 7-18 Ωm area highly related with to the position of groundwater aquifers in the regions. It is concluded that aquifer activities is one of factors occurring deformation, like subsidence. One of aquifer activities is We interpreted that the high resistivity with high subsided zones originated from high porosity of rocks with high groundwater extraction. <p align="justify"> text |
