Description
Summary:
Sand mining at the border of Ciandum Beach affects the landscape and reclamation pattern into coastal forests. The purpose of this study was to determine changes in landscape on the beach in the form of abrasion, changes in microclimate and sea water intrusion. Abrasion mapping that causes shoreline shifts is carried out through studies of Landsat imagery and reinforced data in 2018 by conducting Ground Checking. For seawater intrusion data is carried out by taking 23 groundwater samples from wells in the residential areas in Ciandum Village using Salinmeter. The results of these observations are Ciandum Beach from 2009-2018 has a wide loss of 31 hectares of land and the coastline has shifted from 20-366 m. In Ciandum Beach there are also different land cover and microclimate variations. This abrasion also results in sea water intrusion at distances of up to 600 m (0.3 ppm) from the coastline when compared to settlements located near the Leuweung Sancang Nature Reserve that do not occur in sea water intrusion.
