This condition is similar to the hinder settling condition. Using Tesarik-Vostril equation. v = a/W. the characteristics of sludge blanket can be evaluated based on the value of parameter a and n. We can determine the parameter of a and n in the upflow and hinder settling condition using 2 m Settling Colomn heigh. Alum and FeCl3 are used in this experiment as coagulant. Sludge recirculation applied to observe their effect on the value of parameter a and n from Tesarik-Vostril equation. Bentonite are used in this experiment to make the constant water turbidity at 50 - 60 mg/I SiO2. The pH applied in this experiment is between 6 - 7. The result of these experiments are: Coagulant Upflow Condition Hinder Settling Condition a (g.mm/l.sec.) n a (g,mm/Isec.) n Alum 0,69 0,97 0,50 1,19 Alum + resirkulasi 0,93 1,64 0,61 1,53 Lumpur FeCI3 1,32 1,08 1,21 1,70 FeC13 + resirkulasi 2,13 1,23 1,37 1,81 lumpur We can find from this experiment that the value of parameter a and n from Alum coagulant using are less than from the value of parameter a and text |
