Description
Summary:Research on seawater quality have been conducted in Inner Ambon Bay at November 8th, 2014 using 8 posts as sampling spot of phytoplanktons, nitrate, phospate, silicate,

temperature, salinity, pH, and dissolved oxygen. Results found that phytoplanktons composition in Inner Ambon Bay consists of phytoplanktons from Cyanophyceae Class (49.4%), Bacillariophyceae Class (47.2%), and Dynophyceae (3.4%). The phytoplankton community in Inner Ambon Bay is dominated by Trichodesmium Contortum (27,93%) and

Trichodesmium Erithraeum (21,4%). Correlation analysis between the seawater quality parameters and number of phytoplanktons found that spatial distribution of phytoplankton from Bacillariophyceae class correlated strongly with dissolved oxygen with correlation coefficient value (r) of 0.769 and with surface temperature with r value of 0,631 shown by the high Bacillariophycae density in western part of Inner Ambon Bay. As for Cyanophyceae, it strongly correlated to pH with r value of -0,628 and strongly correlated to surface temperature with r value of -0,729, shown by the high Cyanophyceae density in eastern part of Inner Ambon Bay.
