Commodity fetishism conceived as product of <br /> <br /> capitalism, cooptating society’s conciousness to consume their product continuously. <br /> <br /> As the advancement of technology grows rapidly, the planning of absolence period of <br /> <br /> gadgets starts to emerged. This has given two impacts, which are an impact on <br /> <br /> repetition of consumption as an excuse for updating products and the large amount of <br /> <br /> gadget residues that considered obsolete. <br /> <br /> Based on phenomenon above, author tries to respond the condition through <br /> <br /> installative three dimentional work as author’s ideological instrument and social <br /> <br /> critic. “Orbituary of Concrete Desire” is author’s subversive and utopian view toward <br /> <br /> the phenomenon of commodity fetishism that affected by the obsolescence of <br /> <br /> technology and its residues. <br /> <br /> Critics about the phenomenon and the gadgets itself are presented through subversive <br /> <br /> method in form of medium and display. Obsolete gadgets are imitated through a <br /> <br /> medium which usually is perceived lowly and lowtech as a medium: concrete. <br /> <br /> Imitated objects then being displayed through static order and also vitrines and placed <br /> <br /> onto the floor. Obsolete objects as models are also placed in a vitrine. Hopefully, this <br /> <br /> work can draw a skeptical view upon the appreciator toward this phenomenon. text
