Description
Summary:

Barito River as the main access river in South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan planned to be accessible by the oil and gas loaded vessels. Ophir as a multinational oil and gas company need an information of navigable channel that can be accessible by the bigger vessels. This information used as a preliminary data to determine the potential and operation time of the vesssels. The challenges to determine the navigable channel in Barito River are complexity of morphological condition and the variation of water level. It is necessary to do a accesibility study in Barito River that can support the vessels access to Luwe Hulu which is ±523,5 km from Barito River mouth. Morphological condition of Barito River are known based on the field survey by Ophir (2018) and analysis of the water level variation is based on the numerical modeling. The numerical modeling consist of a 2D simulation by using RMA2 program to simulate the hydrodynamic of the tides and 1D simulation by HEC-RAS program to simulate the 10 years water level variation through Barito River. The vessels accessibility is determined based on the access probability by comparing the 10 years water level data with the threshold water level and analysis of vessels access in river bend. The result shows that the water level give more impact to the accessibility in Barito River than the restriction of river bend. CNG vessel type cannot access the Barito River along years, Methane vesssel type can access for 1 month, Coralius vessel type can access for 8 months, Barge vessel type can access for 9 months and LCT vessell type can access the river along years. The accessibility of the vessels can improve by dredging.
