The mixture of bitumen, fine aggregates, mineral filler and additive material such as cellulose form a mastic which is able to make a skeleton of the mixtures and finally those bituminous mixture become stronger, safe and durable. The problem arise since the cellulose fibres is a synthetic and also an expensive material and an efforts therefore need to replace those materials with other and similar material which is less expensive and if possible is locally available such as bamboo fibres. This research attemps to use the bamboo fibres on bituminous mixtures. The bamboo fibres added to the bituminous mixtures start from 0% to 0.4% to the total weight mixtures; by which all tests procedures following the AASHTO, ASTM and also Bina Marga methods. The performance of the mixtures were investigated based on the Marshall Equipment. From the data and results indicate that stability, flow and density of the bituminous mixtures are decreased and the voids mixtures are increased by adding the bamboo fibres content. Finally can be concluded that the addition of the bamboo fibres is still not able to improve the durability performance of the bituminous mixtures for road construction text
