Description
Summary:CO2 flooding is an EOR technique that proves can increasing recovery factor. However, the nature of CO2 gasses such as low density and low viscosity lead to cause gas segregation and gas fingering. To overcome its WAG (Water Alternating Gas) method was used, a method that combined water flooding and CO2 flooding. However, use of water in this method raises new problems such as early water breakthrough and low mobility ratio. So the new method is developed by adding polymer into the water on WAG method, otherwise known as PAG (Polymer Alternating Gas) method. This method has much better mobility ratio compared to WAG and can reduce the problems of the WAG.

In this study conducted analysis and sensitivity of technical parameters of PAG method accompanied by simple economic evaluation. The sensitivity that conducted such as changes in polymer concentration, injection duration, and reservoir permeability. Moreover, this study also compares the recovery factor of PAG with several EOR methods such as CO2 ¬¬injection, polymer injection, and WAG. The Results proves that PAG method gives 22.5% of recovery factor greater 2.1% than WAG, greater 2.2% than polymer injection, and greater 11.8% than CO¬2 injection. However, the economic evaluation results show conversely. PAG doesn’t provide better profit than other EOR methods and its required oil price 122.87 $/Bbl to make PAG more profitable than other EOR methods.
