In Indonesia aquaponics itself is still growing and most of the people who do it is still at hobby level, so the studies about aquaponics on industrial level is not present. This paper is made to answer the question how to build aquaponic system in indonesia that profitable?

First the writer have to make simulation model which later will be used to simulate the production level of aquaponics, for that the writer choose 3 object as base, which is Nile tilapia (Oreochromis Niloticus), leafy greens lettuce (Lactuca sativa), fruit vegetables beef tomato (Solanum lycopersicum), these three object will be tested their effectivity base on the combination of parameter : a) fish density, b) fish feed, c) what vegetables planted, d) planting method. From these 4 parameter we find out that combination of medium density, high protein feed, 100% lettuce, and staggered planting method is yielding the most optimum result.

Next the chosen model will be analyzed financially using the price of Bandung city market, interest rate 13,75% and MARR 25% which in 1.000 m2 scale able to yield NPV = Rp.127.697.479,34 IRR = 31,52% DPBP = 5,1 years, Profitability Index = 1,01 ,BEP for vegetables = 67.267 kg ,and BEP for fish = 18.911 kg. This analysis conclude that aquaponics is profitable with minimum scale of 1.000 m2 up discretely by multiple 500 m2 , because below that the operational cost still too expensive. text
