Description
Summary:
Volcanic activity occurring in the volcanic edifice generally occurs related to volcano eruption. This volcanic activity can be a lava dome collapse, eruption and magma activity in the conduit. Volcanic activity will then change the physical properties of the medium and affect the speed of the seismic waves. Seismic wave velocity changes can be monitored through seismic ambient noise analysis. By doing Moving Window Cross Spectrum will get the value of pseudo velocity variation that reflects the change of medium from time to time. In addition, short term variations of the seismic velocity can show a more sensitive medium change. On Mount Sinabung found a decrease in pseudo speed in each pair of stations at 15-100 days before the occurrence of eruption. The analysis of Short term Variation found relationship with intensity of collapse earthquakes.
