Summary: |
Indonesia is the second country that has the longest coastline in the world. Beach is place which has great economic and tourism potential for development of maritime resources. However, the coastal situation in Indonesia now has a lot of erosion that can make economic potential disrupted. To solve this problem, efforts need to protect the coastline in Indonesia. One of the best plan to protect coastline in Indonesia is groin. This study discusses about effect of length and distance between groin to amount of erosion and sedimentation in coastal. This study makes graphic to optimize groin’s function. This optimization is useful to minimize the cost used to make groins. Case in this study were at Yeh Malet Beach, Bali. The modelling of shoreline change uses numerical method. The result obtained that length of groin has no effect on erosion and sedimentation that occurred while the distance between groin affects the amount of erosion and sedimentation that occurred. The wider distance between groin will produce greater amount of erosion and sedimentation. In the case of Yeh Malet Beach, the maximum distance between groin is 210 m.
|
