Summary: |
Visible Light Communication (VLC) is a wireless communication that used visible light as a transmission medium. In this final project has been implemented 1 of 7 layer system that is physical layer. Implementation of the physical layer focused on analog front-end. Analog front-end consists of AFE transmitter and AFE receiver. AFE will be implemented in AFE Host and AFE Client. The connection between both the host and client will through by visible light (connection from host to client) and infrared (connection from client to host). This AFE receiver consists of buffer module, high pass filter module, comparator module, and schmitt trigger module. This design is compatible for digital modulation especially for VPPM (Variable Pulse Position Modulation) modulation. Input and Output of AFE receiver are 3V digital signals that can be directly connected to APSoC (All Programmable System on Chip) Zynq-7000 (on Zybo develompent board). The results of this final project is an AFE receiver that can receives and process digital data with 2 MHz frequency and can be integrated with APSoC to access the internet through a visible light with a maximum speed at 550 kbps (kilo bit per second).
