Description
Summary:
Magnteotelluric method is often used in a geothermal exploration by using electromagnetics principles to estimate earth’s resistivity. This research discusses 1-D and 2-D resistivity modelling from MT data using WinGlink software. Impedance tensor analysis was done by rotating the tensor coordinate system to get the trend of strike. The result is displayed as a rose diagram to see the trend of the strike in the area. According to impedance tensor analysis and literature reference, it is found that the trend of the strike is northeast-southwest, due to the most number of value of impedance tensor is 0° until 30° and 0° until -30°. According to the modeling of 1-D and 2-D, there is a resistive layer (±1000Ω.m) towards northwest. Because of that, it is speculated that there is a heat source below the resistive layer, by taking accounts the volcano around the area itself. For further research it is best to have more data for further research to determine the prospects.
