Description
Summary:
Way Ela Dam is a natural dam located in Central Maluku District, Maluku Province. This dam has a water catchment area of 11.620 Km2. In a dam, there is one important component that works to overflow the excess water so as to maintain the safety of the dam against overtopping. The component is the spillway. Spillway planned for this Way Ela Dam is the Ogee Spillway without doors. This spillway is designed using Q1000 and controlled using QPMF. The frequency analysis used is the Gumbel method and the flood discharge plan is calculated using the Snyder synthesized unit hydrograph method. Flood routing was done using HEC-HMS 4.0 and obtained discharge passing over 266.5 m3 / s. Spillway on the Way Ela dam are designed along the 251.71 m of the steering channel to the building of the energy damper with the top elevation is at +159 m. Stability calculation shows that the spillway is stable against the roll stability, shear stability and eccentricity in both flood water level and normal water level condition with earthquake and nonearthquake.
