<br /> <br /> Some kind of goods and services still have challenges in terms of management, one of them was named common good. The management of these common goods becomes essential to eradicate the Tragedy of Commons. The principles of using the resources developed by Ostrom and today have become the basis for further analyzing. Communities as the main actors of management have an important role to sustainable management, the different characteristics of society allow to create different forms of management. Currently, infrastructure services sourced from PDAM in Metropolitan Bandung Raya still can not reached the target of 100% clean water for the community, so that needed some steps to overcome them. Characteristics of the area in Metropolitan Bandung can be divided into three categories, namely urban areas, periurban and rural areas. Those category will become variables to analyze the differences of sustainable community-based water infrastructure management. By using qualitative analysis, this study aims to identify the the differences of sustainable community-based water infrastructure management on urban periruban and rural areas with some cases . Based on the analysis result, it can be seen that the typology of urban area represented by Kelurahan Lebak Siliwangi, Kelurahan Margahayu Tengah and Desa Girmukti is the system used and also the management that influence the amount of social values of society applied and the different land that exist in each -an area. <br /> <br /> <br /> Keywords: clean water, infrastructure management, community-based management, sustainability. <br />
