Description
Summary:In 2015, Pasar Kosambi has been socialized by PD Pasar Kosambi about programs for new eco-friendly market policy, which includes usage of anaerobic digester. However, up until now, the waste management in Pasar Kosambi is still relying on kumpul-angkut-buang system, which only transfers problem from one place to another. Traditional market waste usually made of 75% compostable waste. This compostable waste has a high potential to be used as compost or an alternative energy source in form of methane. Therefore, this project proposes an alternative waste management and treatment in Pasar Kosambi using anaerobic digester. In realizing this design, it is necessary to collect secondary data in the form of the current waste management and the market’s site plan as well as primary data collection in the form of space measurement, waste generation, composition and characteristics. Pasar Kosambi already has biodigester and composter, but both facilities have small capacities and no longer operating. Pasar Kosambi generates 900 kg of waste every day with 89.4% is compostable waste that is classified as high solids and with C/N ratio already in the optimum level. Based on primary and secondary data, an analysis of alternative site, technology system and anaerobic digester technology was made. Anaerobic digester is planned to be placed in the parking lot of the motorcycle and the technology of the system and anaerobic digester chosen is dry system and Biocel technology. Components of the anaerobic digester system include belt conveyor for waste sorting process, waste shredder, feed container which serves to accommodate the temporary garbage before entering into the reactor. The next component is reactor. The total reactor planned is 15 reactors, with each reactor having an organic loading rate of 4.45 kgVS / m3 / day with a maximum of 2 m3/day processed organic waste. The next component is the residue container, the gas container and the leachate container. The leachate produced by the reactor will be collected and recirculated back to the reactor. Estimated investment cost of construction of anaerobic digester system in Pasar Kosambi Market reaches Rp. 381,394,497.
