Summary: |
Since World War II, tank has been a main weapon on the battlefield. As for today, there are 60.000 tanks which active around the world. A lot of researches and developments are conducted in order to improve three main aspects which are armor protection, mobility, and firepower. There is a type of tank with thick armor which called Main Battle Tank (MBT). Since its deadly firepower is able to destroy any threats ahead, it needs effectiveness and operation speed among the crew in order to get the first-hit.
Hololens-controlled turret tank hopefully can decrease crew inside tank without decreasing the effectiveness and the operation speed. Tanks generally need four crews which are commander, loader, gunner, and assistant gunner. However, the turret tank systems using hololens could minimize crews up to only commander and loader needed by optimizing the operation activity inside tank. The system consists of 3 modes of operation which are manual mode, spy mode, and object tracking mode. This document explains the mechanical and control system that implemented on a tank model. The control consist of 4 degree of freedom for yaw and pitch movement of turret, gun, and camera on turret.
|
