This is associated with an increase in the birth rate indicating the level of human need for electricity will increase. As the demand for electricity increases, the fuel needed is also increasing. Contrary to consumer needs, the availability of fossil fuels has decreased significantly. Therefore, the depletion of the availability of fossil fuels and climate change causes increased interest in renewable energy. Renewable energy is one solution that can tackle this problem significantly; one of the most widely available renewable energy sources is plants or often called biomass. In this study, the system used for electricity generation is Organic Rankine Cycle. The fundamental difference of this cycle is the working fluid that is used instead of water but the organic fluid that has a boiling point under water so to raise the temperature to become steam does not require large energy. This study also determines the most effective type of working fluid for optimization. At the end of the study, there are points on the opportunities and bottlenecks of ORC technology in Indonesia. text |
