Description
Summary:<p align="justify">PLTU (Steam Power Plant) Paiton Units 5 and 6 are located in the coastal area of Java Sea in Probolinggo, East Java. Around the plant is a residential area. Distribution of pollutants caused by the wind that leads to land can certainly cause health problems for residents who live there. Therefore, in this study will be studied the influence of the wind that leads to the land of West Monsoon Wind and sea breeze against the distribution of pollutants that come out from the chimney Paiton Unit 5 and 6. Then the results of the assessment is used to determine the safe distance of settlements from the source of emissions. Simulation of pollutant distribution (NO2) using WRF-CALPUFF (Weahter Research Forcasting - California PUFF) modeling.<br /> The results of this study indicate that when the dominant West Wind Monsoon blows the accumulation leads to a smaller concentration of pollutants and a longer range than when the dominant sea breeze blows. Distribution of NO2 gas concentrations is still below the ambient air quality standard established by the government, but as a preventive measure, based on the average of the highest concentration range coverage, the recommended safe distance for residential area around Paiton Power Plant Units 5 and 6 is ± 3.73 km from emission source.<p align="justify">
