It is needed observation, monitoring and special analysis especially at production slopes that located at greater depth. In general, rock slope stability is controlled by the presence of geological structures. Likewise in Pit Bakam, the rocks tend to be hard so that the potential of circular failure is quite small, but large volumes of plane failure occur in that area. Therefore this condition needs to be paid attention, and analysis of weak plane strength needs to be carried out. <br /> <br /> The results of the study using back analysis showed that the weak plane on the Bakam pit is predicted to undergo a reduction in mechanical strength, especially in the form of shear strength. For areas with plane failure at the SYG slopes, the shear strength of weak planes have been predicated decreased to be 29.2 KPa in cohesion and to be 26.80 in friction angle with FOS value of 0.99. While at the BSW Slope, weak plane cohesion becomes 30.6 KPa and the friction angle become 33.40 with FOS value of 0.99. The factor that causes the shear strength decreasing is water because plane failure occur during the rainy condition, and vibration, because few days before there was blasting activity near the failure area. text
