| Summary: | <p alaign="justify">Bandung City as the biggest metropolitan City in West Java has majority of muslim residents. To accomodate the muslims ritual prayer needs, 2700 mosques were built. Despite this numbers, it is still needed to build a mosque that fulfill both ritual necessity and social necessity. Antapani District as high density area in Bandung still require a mosque that would fulfill these two necessities. The project is located at Jl. Purwakarta no. 171 with total area of 11.000 m2. This location is under the residential area of Antapani District. Mosqe at residental area must have a welcoming impression towards neighboring residents. Therefore, the mosque must be made with homely design without luxurious impression. For these reasons the concept of “Al-Qariib” is used. “Al-Qariib” has the meaning of “near”. The concept “near” has two intepretation. First interpretation is near to The Creator, the second interpretation is near to neighboring residents and congregation. To manifest this both interpretation, the mosque is designed to have various spatial experiences that are suitable for prayer and accomodates user social interaction. There are also other facilities as multipurpose building, kindergarten, commercial area, and sports field.<p alaign="justify"> |
