Summary: | Cisanti lakes as the upstream of Citarum River in an area with an altitude of 1.560-2.190 mdpl and has a good soil fertility level. The abundant availability of water in Cisanti Lakes causes people to use the surrounding land for cultivation. These activities can cause changes in land use which are thought to have an impact on change in soil physical properties, especially in therms of soil permeability. The purpose of this research was to analysis the effect of land use on the physical properties of the soil, and determine the relationship of density and coverage tree to soil permeability. Observations were made on 15 plots consting of 5 type of land use namely agroforestry, heterogeneous forest, homogeneous forest, scrub, and grassland with three repetitions of each type of land use. In the observation plot, vegetation analysis and permeability calculations in the field using permeameter. The collection of soil samples in the field was carried out purposive using auger drill and core sampler to determine the physical properties of the soil in the form of texture, bulk density, porosity, and water content. To compare soil physical properties between types of land use with Duncan test using one-way ANOVA method at 95% confidence interval, while to get the correlation value of density and coverage tree to soil permeability with Pearson correlation analysis using SPSS 23. Soil texture in land use types is generally clay except for agroforestry and heterogeneous forest is clay loam. Based on the results and ANOVA test, there were found indications that land use affects the physical properties of the soil. The higest porosity values were found in the type of shrub land is 73.08%, and the highest bulk density and water content were found in the grassland land of 0.83 gr/cm3 and 82.67% The highest soil permeability measurements in the field are found in agroforestry land with an average value of 6.50 cm/hour(rather fast). Based on the results of soil permeability correlations with tree density obtained a very strong relationship with Pearson coefficient value of 0.92, while between the soil permeability with exuberancy tree there is strong relationship with Pearson coefficient of 0.59 |
