Therefore, this require a development of test named True Triaxial Multi-Stage No-Pause which allows three stages of triaxial test using one sample of cubes only. This test is carried out axial (&#963;1) and lateral (&#963;2 and &#963;3) loading in a cubic-shaped sample (95 mm x 95 mm x 95 mm). The &#963;2 and &#963;3 are gradually increased right before the sample fails without pausing the increase of &#963;1. Furthermore, this test will be compared with the True Triaxial Hydrostatic test. <br /> <br /> Both of the tests of True Triaxial use Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion to determine the value of cohesion (c) and friction angle (&#981;) in which in the result show that in True Triaxal Multi-Stage No-Pause test show 9.34% higher cohesion value (c) and 7.76% lower frictional angle value (&#981;) compared with True Triaxial Hydrostatic. <br /> <br /> Modelling of the excavation hole in Phase2 software was done to determine the difference of safety factor value (SF) from both types of True Triaxial tests in which the result shows that the SF value of True Triaxial Multi-Stage No-Pause was 3.62% higher on the wall and 3.50% higher on the roof compared with True Triaxial Hydrostatic. text
