Summary: | Many recent developments on water saturation estimation methods have been done as the development of open hole log acquisition technology. These also modify the Archie’s Equation for carbonate reservoirs with complex pore spaces, like vuggy and fractures, also oil-wet. Because of the presence of gas in the reservoirs, it is still need to modify from recent developments method. Obtained from a well of a field that has carbonate reservoir, field data is used for this research. From the certain formation layers of this well, intervals of oil productive layers are taken based on core analysis data, mud logging data, and open hole log data. Iterative procedures are needed for developing the novel method based on modified Archie’s Equation to optimize statistically certain of parameters in its equation. From this study, data validation level based on linearity of the graph based on the corrected of final correlation to the plot value of water saturation from core analysis obtain in good result. |
