Materials used at electroplating process is a kind of heavy metal that can adversely affect workers, one of which is nickel (Ni). The purpose of this study was to analyze nickel inhaled exposure to electroplating workers in manual and automatic process, to the possibility of decreased in health problems by measuring level of Ni in urine (UNi) and urinary albumin (UAlb) as one of a decreased kidney function biomarker. The research was conducted with crosssectional methods, Ni analysis methods were NIOSH 7300 for Ni in filter, NIOSH 8310 for UNi analysis, and Immunoturbidimetry method for UAlb analysis. From 40 sample showed that there is no Ni intake (CNi) which exceeds the TLV-TWA value adopted by ACGIH and Permenaker, with mean of CNi value 0.0011 mg/m3 for manual group and 0.0013 mg/m3 for automatic group. Mean UNi for manual group was 73.05 μg/g creatinine and 33.44 μg/g creatinine for automatic group, analysis result showed that there is a significant correlation between intake concentration of Ni with UNi as a body response. While, for UAlb mean was 8.9 μg/mg creatinine for manual group and 9.4 μg/mg kreatinin on automatic group. From the result analysis, there was no noticeable difference between the manual group and automatic group.
text
