The aim of this study is to understand the characteristics of Makam Village and its surrounding area by doing a geological mapping within area of 56 km2 located in UTM 9188000 - 9195000 mS dan 331000 – 339000 mT WGS 84 Zona -49s. The methods of the research

consist of geological mapping, data analysis in the laboratory, and studio analysis.

Based on morphology and processes that occur in the study area, then the area is divided into five units of geomorphology, namely Rajawana Homocline Hills Unit,

Makam Homocline Valley Unit, Tegalpingen Homocline Ridge Unit, Bantarbarang Pyroclastic Flow Ridge Unit, and Alluvial Unit. Drainage pattern in the study area is parallel pattern. Geomorphology of studied area is in early to mature geomorphic stage and it was interpreted as the result of exogenous process since Pliocene-

Pleistocene deformation.

Based on lithological characteristics of rocks found in the study area, geological research area can be divided into six lithological units namely Sandstone-Claystone

Unit, Breccia Unit, Claystone Unit, Pyroclastic Breccia Unit, Tuff Unit and Alluvial Deposits Unit. Based on the analysis of foraminifera sample specimen, Sandstone-

Claystone Unit and Breccia Unit were deposited in the Early Pliocen age and have depositional environment Inner-Middle Neritic. Both units are comparable with Tapak Formation. Claystone Unit was deposited in the Middle Pliocene age and have depositional environment Middle Neritic. This unit is comparable with Kalibiuk Formation. Based on Pyroclastic Breccia Unit lithological characteristics of the study area, this unit is comparable with Ligung formation aged Early Pleistocene and was deposited not aligned above Mudstone Unit in terrestrial area. And Tuff Unit was deposited in terrestrial area aligned above Pyroclastic Breccia in terrestrial area.

Geological structures that developed in this area were obtained in the form of strikeslip fault. These structures were estimated began at Late Pliocene-Pleistocene age,

because Sandstone-Mudstone Unit, Breccia Unit, and Mudstone Unit were affected by the structures.
text
