In addition, lipids was also exracted

as a co-product during protein extraction process. Therefore, this research was

performed to characterize proteins and lipids from W. arrhiza and L. punctata

cultivated for six days in a controlled environment. Protein characterization

revealed that both W. arrhiza and L. punctata contain the highest amino acids

glutamate (8,70 % and 8,91%) and aspartate (8,23 % and 8,05 %). Furthermore,

essential amino acids were also detected such as histidine (1,11 % and 1,44 %),

threonine (4,27 % and 4,31 %), tyrosine (3,96 % and 3,45 %), methionine (2,06%

and 2,01 %), valine (5,15 % and 5,44 %), phenylalanine (4,59 % and 4,89 %),

isoleucien (4,91 % and 5,17 %), leucine (6,80 % and 6,90 %), dan lysine (5,54 %

and 5,89 %). Lipid characterization showed that both species contain high fatty

acids such as linolenic acid (20,82 % and 43,72 %), palmitic acid (16,11 % and

18,62 %), dan linoleic acid (13,47 % and 8,31 %). Based on these characters,

proteins from W. arrhiza and L. punctata is potential as raw materials for food

supplement and pharmaceutical industry, while their lipids can be used in cosmetic

and surfactant industries. text
