On the other hand, the rising awareness promotes the better way of dealing with solid waste at the community level. This is interpreted as the waste bank project. This project help to reduce the waste at the source by implementing the reduce, recycle, and reuse practice by its members. The members deposit his or her segregated waste to the waste bank to be weighed and sold. This is recorded into his or her saving books. Despite promoting sustainability by giving economic incentive, helping the environment, and involving the community, some of the waste bank projects fail to operate continuously. Meanwhile, one good waste bank is the Malaka Sari who already become national pilot project due to its performance in reducing the waste. The purpose of this research is to find the success factors of the waste bank project based on the members and experts. The sixteen experts respondents and seventy-six members respondents come from the Malaka Sari Waste Bank project who take part in filling out the questionnaire. The data obtained then analyzed using statistical method cross tabulation for the members and Kendall concordance method for both members and experts. The mean rank obtained in Kendall is used to arrange the factors based on their priority. In addition, by using Kendall concordance test to the experts, the harmony of perception between the experts in determining the success factors will be revealed. The last process it to perform a simple union operation between the perception of the experts and the members to know the final success factors in the waste bank project. The results suggest that the highly influential factors which influence the success of waste bank project are a transparent financial system, recording system or savings book, economic benefit, and active role of the caretakers. In addition, the influential factors which influence the success waste bank project are a leader/public figure, social pressure, close to the service area, easy access to the waste bank, and support from the government. <br /> <br /> <br /> Keywords: success factors, waste bank project, cross tabulation, mean rank, Kendall concordance. <br /> text
