This study aimed to prove the sustainability of seaweed farming activity from environment, technology and economic factors by using Rapid Appraisal For Fisheries (RAPFISH). Result of this study showed that actual condition of seaweed farming activity in Pulau Panjang was "sufficiently

sustainable" with sustainability index of 67.83. The most dominant attribute from environment factor was the existence of heavy metal, from technology factor was

the accuracy of harvesting and from economic factor was the sorption and marketing chain of seaweed. The result from scenario of seaweed farming activity with condition "unsustainable", "less sustainable" and "sustainable" were obtained that the most dominant attribute combination from environment factor were the existence of heavy metal. The dominant attributes combination from economic factor were status of busines capital and the average income of seaweed farmer. And from technology factors were the availability of a high quality seaweed seed and storage facilities. This study showed that the sustainability of seaweed farming activity can be achieved through the integrated management between government, industrial sectors and seaweed farmer by observing the most dominant attributes from environment, technology and economic factors.
text
