Summary: | Padjadjaran University is one of the state universities located in Jatinangor District, Sumedang Regency. In accordance Surat Keputusan Gubernur Jawa Barat No. 593/3590/1987987, the area of UNPAD is 3,285 hectares. The area used for the development of campus activities in Jatinangor is 150 hectares. The campus has total of 35,727 employees, lecturers and students in 2018. The waste management system in UNPAD still uses the conventional system which is collecting-gathering-dumping. Based on the results of waste sampling with waste sampling method that refers to SNI 19.3964-1994, it is found that waste generated in UNPAD is 3.36 tons / day. The composition of waste in this area is dominated by organic waste which is 49%, the inorganic waste 41% and the others 10% waste that cannot be reprocessed. The highest percentage of waste from organic waste itself is food waste which is 42%, and the least is leaf waste by 7%. In this final project, an organic waste processing unit will be designed using anaerobic digester for food waste and windrow composting for leaf waste. Garbage handling at the source using the sorting system is separated container and uses insulated trucks collection. By using this new system, the percentage of waste transported to Sumedang landfill is 26% or 74% of the waste is processed in TPS UNPAD. <br />
